[br][br]Age 98 1/2 died peacefully at Tacoma Lutheran Home. She was born in Berg, North Dakota. She married the Reverend Karl Ufer in 1945. They served the Lutheran Church in Dallas OR (1946-51), Pullman WA (1953-72) and Spokane WA (1972) until Karl's death in 1981. Phyllis moved to Tacoma in 1993. She is survived by son, Steven Ufer (Valerie), daughter Sharon Ufer Lavell (husband Paul), granddaughter Kristina Ufer Ngai (Jeffrey).
