[br][br]Theron Faris Harrison, 58, left this earthly life suddenly and unexpectedly on October 20, 2015 in
Spokane. Theron was born on July 23, 1957 to Duane and Margaret (Peg) Harrison in Coeur d'Alene. He joined 2 older brothers - a little sister joined them several years later. Theron attended Coeur d'Alene schools and graduated from CHS in 1976. He attended NIC and University of Idaho. Theron was a talented and skilled machinist. He had a technical mind and in many jobs was looked to as the problem solver. He loved sailing, reading, painting, and motorcycles. Theron's dream was to be a pirate when he grew up. He was a gentle man and a kind soul. Theron was preceded in death by his father, Duane; mother, Margaret; and niece, Rhonda Richardson. He is survived by his brothers Richard (Jean) Harrison and Alan (Tatiana) Harrison both of Coeur d'Alene; sister, Elizabeth (Scott) Thurgood of Post Falls; 15 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and two aunts- June Reeves and Jean Hatter, both of England. Theron will be greatly missed. Memorial services for Theron will be held on November 6, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2801 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, ID, at 4 p.m. Richard invites all to his home after services for food and drink; 2619 N. 6th Street, CdA.

MANN, HAROLD C
Harold C. Mann, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Freeland, WA on October 8, 2015. He was born June 1, 1924 in Reardan, WA and was a 1943 graduate of Reardan High School.
Harold was one of nine children of Henry and Anna Mann of Reardan, WA and is survived by two sisters, Helen Halvorson of Seattle and Irene Bennett of Ritzville, WA. He was a brother of Joe Mann, who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor during World War II.
He married Mary (Bradley) of Omak, WA on April 23, 1949 and lived in the Spokane Valley until moving to Edmonds, WA in 1975. He sold and serviced banking equipment for Diebold for many years. Harold and Mary were members of Millwood Presbyterian Church when they lived in Spokane, and most recently were members of Lynnwood (WA) Free Methodist Church.
He is survived by Mary, his wife of 66 years; sons Larry (Carole) of Spokane Valley, Edward (Michael) and Ronald, all of Freeland; granddaughters Sydney Mann of Freeland, Rachael (Matt) Levay and great-granddaughter Wilhelmina Levay, all of Pocatello, ID; step grandchildren Dan Veal of Las Vegas, NV and Chris (Christy) Veal; and step great-grandchildren Lily and Victor Veal, all of Vashon WA.
A memorial service will be held at the Lynnwood Free Methodist Church, 6519 188th St SW, Lynnwood, WA, on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2:00 PM.

PHILLIPS, JESSE W
[br][br]On October 31, 2015, Jesse W Phillips was called home to his eternal reward. While we have lost a friend, a father, a grandfather and a mentor here on earth, we know that he will continue to be a great influence to all those whose lives he touched.
"Sonny", as he was known to the family was born September 15th, 1925 in the Chilkoot Army Barracks in Haines, AK to Jesse and Bethel Phillips. Times were hard and Sonny learned the value of hard work as he spent his youth hauling tarwood and chopping cotton in the fields of Florida. A move to Fort Vancouver would yield his first views of the Pacific Ocean and perhaps a glance into his own future.
Ever the Patriot, Jesse came of age doing electrical work in the Kaiser Ship Yards in Portland, OR where he overcame the limitations of an 8th grade education and learned to do complex mathematics and read blueprints. At 17, he asked his mother for permission to join the Navy and help with the War effort but was denied. He was patient however and enlisted in the US Navy on November 3, 1943 shortly after his 18th birthday. Jesse attended 12 weeks of basic training at Farragut, ID on Lake Pend Oreille before learning the skills he would need as a Radioman. For over 3 years, he manned the radios day and night on ships such as the USS R-4 (R class coastal defense submarine), the USS Dentuda (Balao-class attack submarine), the USS Piranha (Balao-Class attack submarine), and the USS LSM 382 ( Amphibious Landing Ship). RM2 Phillips served with distinction throughout the Asiatic Pacific Theatre earning the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. As one of the few Radiomen available at the time, he often went for days, sleeping just 10-15 minutes at a time, in order to monitor radio traffic. Jesse was Honorably Discharged on August 2, 1947.
After spending a few months enjoying civilian life, Jesse took a job with the Railroad working as a telegraph operator. He found the desolation of Ephrata, WA too much to bear and promptly left for better opportunities in the big city of Spokane, WA where he began work at the City Ramp Garage on the corner of 1st and Stevens. "Phil" Phillips as he was known to his customers, enjoyed working at "The Ramp" and quickly rose to the position of General Manager where he stayed for over 40 years. Always quick with a smile and honest to a fault, he was the man that everyone trusted to keep their vehicles safe and on the road. Jesse donated many hours in service to the business community as a member of the Rotary Club and Toastmasters.
Jesse wasn't all work however... He enjoyed many pursuits such as hunting, fishing, dancing, and the outdoors. It was these rugged qualities which must have attracted one Jaquelin Dexter, with whom he fell in love and married in 1951. Jackie and Jesse worked side by side at the City Ramp and had a wonderful marriage that lasted 43 years until her passing in 1994.
Upon retirement, Jesse moved to a cabin he built on the banks of the Pend Oreille River in Newport, WA where he was a fixture at the local Eagles Club. Every Saturday would find him out on the dance floor kicking up his heels and enjoying some good country music. When not out dancing, Jesse liked to carve wooden ducks and work in the garden. He also volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and the Pend Oreille Historical Society.
Just like the job in Ephrata, the solitude of the cabin began to wear thin and Jesse once again moved to the big city of Spokane where he lived with his longtime friend and companion Colleen Flynn. Together they enjoyed traveling, dining with friends and family and spending time at the local casinos. Jesse was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 51 in Spokane where the two enjoyed attending events on a regular basis.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Linda Flack of Otis Orchards, WA and two grandsons, Robert Flack of Otis Orchards, WA and Phil Flack of Priest River, ID. A memorial service will be held November 19th at 5pm at VFW Post 51 in Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his memory to the "Children of our Heroes" fund . Ginger was a kind, generous woman who loved her family. Born in 1935 in Nampa, ID, to Lila and Fred Carpenter,his life took him many places.
Jerry was the oldest born of 3 children, sister Carolyn & brother Delbert were born after him.
Gerald attended school in Spokane, he went to Bryant, Havermale & North Central High School. During high school he worked at the Spokesman Review/Chronicle as an ad tear sheet runner & continued his school years profession of a newpaper delivery boy. He earned his journeyman printer status at the Spokesman & his love of the printed word was set in stone. .
After High School, in 1954, he wed the love of his life, Beverly Womach. Shortly after they moved to Seattle where Jerry worked for the University of Washington print shop while attending Seattle Pacific University. In 1964, Jerry & Bev and their 2 surviving children moved to Newport, WA, where they owned & operated The Newport Miner & Gem State weekly newspapers for 13 years. During those years he attended Whitworth College and earned his Masters degree in the Art of Teaching and began developing and investing in real estate. He also began his long teaching career at Spokane Community College where he shared his joy of knowledge with his students. One year he even did an exchange teach in Hawaii! He and Beverly also added one more child to the family.
In the late '70's his attention turned to Spokane and the weekly publication of the Star Shopper and Thrifty Rent-A-Car franchise. In the mid '80's attentions turned again, the Star Shopper was sold, Thrifty Rent-A-Car was sold & the Century 21/Barrie Hunt Real Estate franchise was purchased along with Ericks Realty in Deer Park, WA.
His interest in real estate continued through out the rest of his life. He shared his passion for real estate with many people in his family & the community.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Beverly, three children, son, Eric Carpenter & his wife Linda, daughter Karen Carpenter, and daughter Kim Hickethier, & husband Jeff, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Deer Park Masonic Center in Deer Park on Friday Nov 13th, at 3 PM.
