BUCK, WENDELL L
[br][br]Wendell Lee Buck "BUCK", 83, of Kent, WA, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015.
Buck was born, June 15, 1932, in Wallace, Idaho. After proudly serving with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, he attended and graduated from EWU with a Bachelors in Science and Math. On September 4, 1964, he married the love of his life, Aileen Ruth Craine. Buck was an amazing Science Teacher and Coach. He ended his long career at Sacajawea Junior High in 1988. As a mentor and friend to many, he was a positive influence to all who knew and loved him. Buck was also an avid sports fan. He was the #1 "12th man" of the Seattle Seahawks!
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Buck was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Buck, his wife, Aileen, his sons John Buck and Patrick Keilty. Buck is survived by his 2 sons, Michael (Brianna) Keilty and Shane Buck, his 5 daughters, Mary Kay (Ben) Keilty, Kathleen Danis, M'Liss Morse, Kimberly (Eric) Christeson and Wendy (Jon) Christeson, as well as, 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and his loving partner, Joan Myers and her family.
Funeral services for Buck will be at Heritage Funeral Home 508 N. Government Way in Spokane, WA on Saturday, October 3, at 2pm. Inurnment immediately following at Riverside Memorial Park.

HAVELICK, VIRGINIA L
[br][br]Virginia passed away peacefully in her sleep with family members at her side on September 23, 2015. She was preceded in death by husband Louis "Frank" Havelick, her brother Gordon Kelley, and sisters Colleen Lynch and Nancy Rizzo. She is survived by: her sisters Priscilla Stumbaugh, Watsonville, CA, Neva Spooner, Spokane, WA, and beloved sisters-in-law Anne Kelley, Pittsburg, PA, and Donnie Havelick, of Spokane; her children, Gregory Shannon (Genevieve), Jeffery Shannon, and Priscilla Stout (Bradley), stepdaughters Paula Beach (Ron) and Laurie Stillwell (John); her numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Virginia was born March 28, 1926 in Spokane to William and Ida (Shaw) Kelley. She was the eldest of five. She graduated from Rogers High in 1944 and then went to work for the U.S. Weather Bureau in service of the war effort before marrying Robert Shannon. The couple lived in Spokane where they raised three children. After their divorce Virginia married Frank and they spent many years in Sandpoint, ID. They liked to travel and visited Australia, Japan, and elsewhere, including several trips to Hawaii. Virginia held Spokane Civic Theatre tickets and caught all the musicals she could, including Radio City Music Hall in New York and Ethel Merman's opening night of Hello Dolly on Broadway. The Seahawks, Mariners, and Spokane Indians were high on her list.
Virginia was a long-time Eagles Club member. She began her service to community in her high school days at Rogers, and continued to be an active community member throughout her life. Virginia was a PTA member and served as secretary and president over the years. She served as secretary of the Rogers Reunion organization, and was voted to the Rogers Alumni Walk of Fame. Virginia was active in the Spokane Woman's Club, and was a Past President, among other duties to the organization she so cherished.
All who knew Virginia are invited to a memorial/celebration of life observance on Friday, October 16, 2015, from 3 pm to 5:30 pm at the Spokane Woman's Club, 1428 W. 9th, Spokane.

She was a caring and loving mother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her partner John Zimmerman, children Halie Howard, JulieAnn Zimmerman and Cloey Nicole Zimmerman.

[br][br]Kathryn Himes Myles was born April 16, 1918 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Willa and Wayland Himes. She passed away September 26, 2015 in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Edmond High School with the class of 1935 as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Central State Teachers College in Edmond. She was an accomplished pianist and organist of First United Methodist Church in Edmond. She has been playing for churches since 1935. She married Larry Myles on June 6, 1936 and moved to Bunkie, Louisiana where Larry was employed by Amerada Petroleum Corporation. Her children, John and Sandra, were born in Bunkie. They also lived in Casper, Wyoming and Williston, North Dakota until Larry's retirement in 1969. They returned to their beloved state of Oklahoma and settled in Sapulpa where Kathryn was organist at First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa for 21 years and played for weddings and funerals around Sapulpa. She also taught piano lessons for 25 years. In 2003 Kathryn moved to Spokane where she lived with her daughter for the past 12 years. She was organist at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church when she first moved here. Kathryn was a 78 year member of PEO, past president of Chapter G, and joined Chapter GK upon moving to Spokane. She was past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Bunkie, Louisiana and was active in Eastern Star in Williston, North Dakota. Kathryn was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing bridge at the Spokane Valley Senior Center, in addition to playing in a foursome with friends. She said playing bridge kept her mind sharp. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Larry, a sister, two brothers, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Myles. She is survived by her son, John Myles of Casper, Wyoming, her daughter, Sandy Hoveskeland of Spokane Valley, grandchildren Kory Buglione and Andrew (great grandson) of Spokane Valley, Melissa (Roger) Huschka of Casper, Wyoming, Jessica Schulz of Lafayette, Colorado, Mendi Jones of Roeland Park, Kansas, Joe (Angela) Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Paulette (Kurt) Newman of Denton, Texas, and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2511 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA. The family asks that memorial donations be made in Kathryn's memory to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur St., Spokane, WA 99202. Kathryn will be laid to rest with her husband Larry at the Beggs Cemetery in Beggs, Oklahoma.

[br][br]Dale went home to be with his Heavenly Father while surrounded by his family and friends. Dale was born in Spokane WA to Julius and Clara VanDewalle. He served in the US Army. After his discharge Dale returned to Spokane and married his childhood sweetheart Doris Jean Spence. They owned and operated a small neighborhood grocery store. Dale went on to be a salesman for Lipton Tea for 14 yrs. From Lipton he continued in the grocery business and became president of Fenwick Pickett Food Brokerage. During his 41 years in Lake Oswego he was an active member of Lake Grove Presbyterian Church where he loved and served the Lord. Dale is survived by his wife Doris and daughters Gail Allison-Sanderson (Tommy,) and Donna Ryan (Greg,) four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by his sister Jean Haase, son-in-law Bob Allison, and grandson, Greg Allison. A memorial service will be held October 17th at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in Lake Oswego at 2:00. Donations may be made in Dale's name to Serenity Hospice 11481 S.W. DOUD, HARVEY C
[br][br]Harvey Charles Doud Jr. passed into eternity under the loving care of Swedish Medical Center in Seattle WA on Wednesday September 23, 2015. His children were by his side when the Lord called him home.
Harvey was born on March 28, 1931 in Beloit, WI to his parents Harvey Sr. and Edna Doud (Visgar). Harvey was the youngest of three children after his older sisters, Charlotte and Viola. He enjoyed sports in school and enlisted in the United States Army, 2nd Infantry division, as a teenager. Harvey served his country proudly during the Korean War, and was one of very few from his unit to return home. Harvey was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Jordan, on December 13, 1951, and together they raised 5 children. On June 25, 1952 he was honorably discharged from military service. In 1965, Harvey moved his family to Spokane, WA, where he spent the majority of his life.
In his later years, Harvey lived for his children and grandchildren. The right words at the right time seemed to come easy to him, and he was always there with a helping hand. He had a knack for fixing things, a trait that his family & friends were thankful for, and one he shared freely. Among many things, Harvey enjoyed clocks, movies, and a good yard sale, but mostly spending time with his loved ones. God blessed him with 18 grandchildren, David Jr., Stacey, Scotty, Tracy, Shannon, Brandon, Shellie, Aimee, Nikki, Mandy, Ryan, Bethany, Joe, Tim, Paul, Kris, Justin, & Brennan. Recently, he had moved to Seattle to live with his Son Greg. Harvey was a friend to all, who will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Harvey is survived by his sister, Charlotte Whitinger, and his 5 children, David Thomas Doud, Jeffery Lee Doud (JoAnn), Cherie Elaine Daniels (Frank), Gregory Charles Doud, and Rebecca Lynn Walker (Scott), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, sister, Viola Adrian and his granddaughters, Tracy Lawson, Stacey Jacobs and Shellie Pierce.
A memorial service for Harvey will be held at 11:00 am, October 17, 2015 at Spokane Baptist Church, 12817 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99216. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bring your favorite potluck dish and stay to share a meal together in the fellowship hall and celebrate Harvey's life.

DEVORE, MICHAEL S
[br][br]Mike Devore, age 50 passed away October 7, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital due to complications from a boating accident. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on January 8, 1965 to Miles and Geri Devore in Fullerton, Ca.
Mike was the oldest of ten children. He graduated from University High School, Spokane WA in 1984. He is preceded in death by his father Miles. His occupation was in HVAC, but the joy of his life was in building and racing his boat. He had many friends in the boating arena and he will be missed. His other hobby was model trains.
Mike is survived by four children (Justin, Allen, Brittany and Luke), his mother Geri, 7 brothers (Mark, Matt, Marty, Mitch, Marvin, Max and Marshall, 2 sisters (Michelle Coker and Melissa) former wife (Renee), and many nieces, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 am at Mt. Spokane church, 6311 E Mt. Spokane Park Dr, Mead, WA 99021.
