MCCAIN, ALLEN J

[br][br]Allen "Jack" John McCain, 73, of Shelton, WA passed away on Aug. 16, 2013, after a 12 year battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born Nov. 2, 1939, to John and Mildred (Smith) McCain, in Penns Grove, N.J. Jack graduated from Woodstown High School in 1956. He met his beautiful bride, Judith Ann Hemighaus, in 1964 and they married in 1966, in Norristown, PA. Jack enjoyed reading, gardening, sightseeing, church and school leadership roles, and spending time with his family. Jack worked for 16 years in sales, selling health and Bible story books before beginning work as a faithful employee of Gannett Newspapers, serving New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He remained with Gannett for 18 years before moving to Washington in 1988. His last years of employment were with Sears in Spokane. Jack is survived by his wife, Judy McCain of Shelton, daughters Pamela McCain of Spokane; Patricia Logan of Oklahoma City, OK; and Laura Cramer of Spokane; sons Timothy McCain of Spokane; Jon McCain of Spokane; and Kevin McCain of Duarte, CA; 13 grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur McCain of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Harriett McCain. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Providence Sound Hospice and Hospice of Spokane. Their dedication and efforts to provide quality care were a blessing to the entire family. Jack went to sleep in death peacefully and is awaiting the resurrection day. A memorial service took place Aug. 17 at the Shelton Seventh-day Adventist Church. It was officiated by Dr. John McGhee. Arrangements were by McComb & Wagner Funeral Home in Shelton.
