[br][br]Young was his last name, and that's just the way he lived his life. He never defined himself by his age, and being Young was a lifestyle he embraced until he passed away on December 19th.
Born November, 12th, 1939, Dennis Young, or Denny as his friends refer to him, was destined to be a renaissance man in Spokane, Washington when few were available. Denny was an architect by trade, but a potter at heart. Mastering many other art forms during his life, including singing, painting and poetry, Denny was also a very successful Dixieland jazz trumpeter during his years at Montana State University. Though he is well known for the over 3000 pots he threw during his lifetime, earning him the designation of journeyman potter, his greatest impact came from being a teacher. He taught pottery to hundreds of students over the years, and found great joy in sharing his love of the craft with others.
