[br][br]James K. Spencer (94) passed away Saturday in Spokane, WA. Jim was born in San Francisco, CA. He went to Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA where he played Water Polo, Basketball and Baseball. Jim married Emma Jean Dunn in 1939. He served in the army in Italy during WWII. When he returned he attended USC on the GI bill for, as he liked to say, "long enough to have a cup of coffee", as he was needed at home to support his family. Jim had a 34 year career with Kraft Foods from 1947 until he retired in 1981. He was a Regional District Manager for Kraft which brought him from California to Spokane, WA in 1966. His wife of 47 years passed away in 1986. Jim remarried Lorraine Fugua in 1989. Lorraine passed away in 2011. Jim loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons, Jim Spencer (Nancy), Ron Spencer (Cathy), and Dave Spencer (Cheryl) and his daughter Janet Dill (Jeff); 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jim loved the ocean, the sun and warm weather of Southern California and visited as often as he could. He also loved Priest Lake. Jim was an avid golfer and was a member of the Spokane Country Club for 47 years. He was also a Mason, Jim loved to fish and to garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Morning Star Boys Ranch, 4511 S. Glenrose Rd., Spokane, WA or the YMCA, 1126 Monroe St., Spokane, WA. Per Jim's choice, no service will be held. The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Staff at ManorCare for their caring support in his final days.
