[br][br]Deonne W. Moe - 78 years young August 5, 1937 - June 6, 2016 Surrounded by her family & friends, Deonne was called home by God to be with husband Orville on June 6th, 2016. Born on August 5, 1937, at Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, to Ernest and Agnes Schultz, Deonne lived for several years in Dutton, Montana, before her family moved to Washington. There she met Orville Moe, who followed her home from North Central High school one day. They married in January of 1953 and together had three daughters, Kathleen, Susan and Terry. And so began the journey of sixty-two years of hard work and the fulfillment of husband Orville's dream, to build a racing facility where families could go and enjoy the sport of drag racing together. The racing journey began at the Deer Park Airport in Deer Park Washington in the 1960's. Orville's parents, Clarence & Georgia Moe, along with Deonne, would sell tickets at the gate on race day. There would also be clean up & painting on non-race days. After Deer Park, there would be the dream of actually building a just for racing facility. So began the dream of Spokane Raceway Park, which opened in 1974. Through all these years of hard work outside of their home, Deonne still managed to make a loving home for her family. Deonne took in ironing in the early years. She then learned how to groom dogs. Her love of animals led her to raise siamese cats, and cocker spaniel dogs. Their home was never without dogs and cats. She also loved to ride horses. Sewing and reading were also among her favorite things to do. She even played Ice Hockey alongside daughters Sue and Terry for several years. And she was always there to tie Orville's hockey skates when he played. Deonne and Orville also co-produced the Spokane Auto,Boat, & Speed Show with Don Wilbur for almost 50 years. They also produced auto shows in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They produced many other events at Spokane Raceway Park. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was always there for her family. Her willingness to help others extended beyond her family to many friends. One friend, Karen Stokes, along with her husband, Daryl, would remain her closest friends. Deonne was a very strong, giving and loving woman. At Christmas time, Deonne and Orville would buy toys to donate to children. More recently, Deonne with her friends Karen, Char, and Judy, were making blankets, scarfs, and hats, which they donated to Shriners Hospital and Vanessa Crisis Center. She is survived by her daughters Susan Ross and Terry Graham (Bryan), Granddaughters Misty Hoxie (Michael) and Dawn Smith (Dustin), great grandchildren Ethan, Drake, Donovan, Alexee, Ashton, Addison and Judith and sisters Donna Toft, Dale Perry and brother Dallas Schultz. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy, her parents, Ernest and Agnes, and her husband, Orville. Memorial gifts may be made to The Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane, WA 99217 Services for Deonne will be at Fairmount Memorial Park - Sunset Chapel, Spokane, WA Saturday June 18, 2016 at 1:30 pm with Celebration of Life to follow at Lost Boys Garage, 6325 N.
