There's no easy way to say that we lost Chance Bjork on March 5, 2016.
When people tell stories about Chance, they say the same things about him, which means that although we share different memories of Chance and knew him during different stages of his life, he was consistently kind, affectionate, silly, empathetic and effervescent. He was good at making people laugh and making them feel comfortable being themselves. He was handsome, adventurous, a rebel and a light - someone who took the time to be with people. He was famous for his bright smile and his great hearty laughter. We will gather and celebrate Chance at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16th in the Lair building at SCC, for his memorial service.
Chance was born in Ventura, CA on February 6, 1995, but spent most of his life here in Spokane. He is preceded in death by his father, Kim Bjork. He was a beloved friend, loving brother, much loved uncle, and very cherished son. Chance's spirit is carried on by his mother, Suzanne Thomson Bjork; sister, Britney Bjork; brothers, Nicholas and Greysen Bjork; niece, Trinity Schultz; his pal Treble Clef, dog extraordinaire; along with extended family and many friends. We will remember him in the neighborhood, at the Frisbee Field, hiking on the bluff, on the slopes at Mt. Spokane, floating down the Spokane River, and in the star-filled sky. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the memorial fund in Chance's name at www.Peak7.org, an organization that challenges the body and engages the spirit of young people through adventures in nature.
