[br][br]Betty Jane Long (Greenacres, WA) entered into rest on March 28, 2016. Betty was born on January 7, 1940 in New Deal, MT, to Theobald and Emma Schauer. She was raised in Hayden Lake, ID, and was one of eight children.
Betty enjoyed fishing (especially her stays at Klink's Resort on William's Lake) and her trips to Wendover. She was happiest at home; she loved playing cards, she was an avid reader and loved working in her garden. She also loved watching her favorite teams, the Seattle Mariners and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. She loved spending time with friends and family! Her door was open to all, and during the summer you never left without a bag of fresh vegetables from her garden, or a jar of something freshly canned. She loved to share anything she could.
Betty is survived by her five children: daughter, Sharon (Roger) Wood, and sons, Mike Long, Jeff Long and Allison, Doug (Cheri) Long, and Dave Long and Kelly; grandchildren: Joshua, Jake, Michael, Stephanie, Patrick, Justin, Emma, Ashley, and Jessica, and great-grandchildren: Hunter, Forest, Hudson and Alexis. She is also survived by her sister Violet Tanner, and brothers, Leonard, Louie, and Larry Schauer.
As much as Betty loved her family, we all love the way she lived her life, the example she set by being the hardest-working woman we know, and the unconditional love she gave to all, regardless of the circumstance. We miss you already! We are so proud to have been a part of your family, and you will live on in our hearts forever!
A graveside service will be held April 29th @ 2:30 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.
