[br][br]John passed away in the arms of his family and now resides in the arms of Jesus and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife of 61 years; Jeannie, his four children; Terry, Nancy, Mark and Christine; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Herberholz and Rosemary Miller of Spokane. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Joan Helen Streich and Daniel Mangan, and siblings Danny, Dick and Marion. John attended St. Anns and Gonzaga, graduating in 1952. While still in high school, he joined the Naval Air Reserve at NAS Spokane and became an air crewman, a radioman and machine gunner. He went active duty in 1955 and became a Survival Instructor and Parachute Rigger. John created two Sky diving clubs: NAS Seattle, WA and NAS Olathe, KS., making 386 jumps. John had a terrific sense of humor, was very affectionate and he loved his animals. John's favorite hobby was building beautiful airplane models which hung in his computer room. He was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in 2004. We wish to thank Dr. Ionescu, Medical Lake Rockwood Clinic and Hospice of Spokane. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Spokane.
