Pat was born in Spokane to Florence and Milton Barton. She lived in Mullan, ID with family until high school when she moved to Walla Walla and graduated in 1943. St Luke's Nursing School graduate in 1946 and BA/MEd in 1977. Worked as a County School Nurse, Hospital RN and retired as Director of Health Education, Walla Walla Community College in 1984. Very active in Harrington, Pomeroy, Kennewick and Walla Walla. Loved golf, travel, reading and friends. Member Walla Walla Country Club.
Survived by husband of 41 years, Don; daughter, Tyece Smith Okamura, sons, Devin (Judy) and Paul (Rhonda) Smith along with stepsons Mike (Debbie) and Doug (Claudia) Minnich; stepdaughter Michel (David) Smith. She's survived by 12 adult grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with her cousin, Diane (Ned) Tower of Hayden Lake ID.
Pre-deceased by former husband, John (Jack) H Smith, parents and other family members.
Memorial services will be held at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Walla Walla at a later date.
