MERRITT, GLADE "BUD" E

[br][br]Glade "Bud" Merritt (age 63) entered into rest on 1/26/2015 in Spokane, WA comforted by his wife, daughters, and family. Born 7/10/1951 in Spokane, WA to Mary Jane and Glade Merritt, his father called him "Little Buddy" earning him the life-long nickname of "Bud". Bud's passion for hockey began as a little boy, and at age 18 he taught himself to skate and joined a local team. Bud was known to all as an absolute gentleman except for when he stepped out onto the ice and "let loose". He was also a loyal fan to the Spokane Chiefs. Bud's other love was racing his '72 Dodge Demon at Spokane Raceway Park. He also showed his car as a member and secretary of the Lilac City Mopars. Bud had a love for technology, astronomy, and was a ham radio enthusiast. He loved animals, and they loved him. He worked as a telecommunications technician for over 30 years, most recently at Black Box. Married to the love of his life Deedee for 35 years, they had two daughters Nicole and Rachel. He is survived by his wife, daughters, three grandchildren, Aleah, Chase and Hunter, and sister, Flo. A memorial service will be held on Thurs. Feb. 5th at 1:00pm at Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park at 5200 W. Wellesley in Spokane.
