[br][br]Simpson Steven (Skip) 1953-2014 (age 61). Passed on November 16, 2014 in Seattle with family at his side. He is survived by his parents, Ben H. and Helen, sister, (Miss) Betty, of Otis Orchards. Sons, Ben and Kyle and grandson, Donaven of Spokane. Daughter, Emily, and son, Jay, of Seattle. Skip graduated from East Valley High School in 1971. He was active in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle badge. Skip worked for Simpson Contractors Inc., among others, for many years before attending and graduating from Montana Technical Institute in Butte MT. with his Civil Engineering degree in 2005. He worked for Envirocon as an Engineer cleaning up Super-fund sites, most recently the Duwamish River in Seattle. But Skip's real passion was sailing. His J-29 "Orphan Girl" was his first love. If he wasn't sailing the boat, he was fixing, adjusting, re-rigging, and just "messing around with his boat" He frequently competed in races with his crew in the Puget Sound but was just as comfortable sailing solo. "Skip, we are devastated with your passing. We miss you terribly but know you are on a boat with the wind forever at your back, the sails quiet and full, and the bow with a bone in her teeth" Envirocon set up a scholarship in Skip's name at Montana Technical Institute in the Civil Engineering dept. Please make any contributions to the school in his name.
